SEPARATION ANXIETY
I hear you... Separation Anxiety is a real challenge.
When a pup feels extreme distress at the thought of being separated from someone they are attached to, it often manifests as destructive behaviour, excessive barking, howling and other signs of anxiety.
I have worked many cases as a 'Designated Certified Separation Anxiety Pro Trainer' and I have only love, respect and support for owners who are going through this difficult endeavour.
Treatment involves gentle behaviour modification, training, and sometimes medication support, depending on the severity of the case.
Nata's owners have been with us on our monthly, affordable Whatsapp plan and have achieved great results with their little one.
I love this photo of Nata because it says it all!
They can now go out and about their day and they have successfully found a lovely dog sitter @auntyshans to help them when they go on holiday.
It takes a village! But how beautiful to see results like these.
They are also working at Nata's fear of the vet, strangers and grooming.
Stellar job, Team Nata.
Olive's owners are nothing short of wonderful.
They worked hard at reassuring Olive that they will always come back home. They helped her feel safer when external sounds were going on, reduce the obsession with her beloved garden (and neighbours!), they looked into physical pain that was causing her to feel not at her best and their support through training and hydrotherapy is ongoing. They have arranged her environment to maximise the success in her training and she even has now a "classic Olive" pose for when they are out and about. Here she is doing just that in her picture!
